Dharamshala

Dharamshala or Dharamsala city is located in Kangra district at 18 km from Kangra city in Himachal Pradesh. The state's winter capital, Dharamshala, is separated as upper and lower divisions with different altitudes. The lower division is the Dharamsala town itself, whereas the upper division is located 3 km away and is popularly known as Mcleodganj. Dharamsala is prominently visited for the bus connections and the bustling market. Dharamsala is the home to Dalai Lama, the Buddhist leader who runs his government in exile from Dharamsala. Now, what better place on earth than this little town set on the foothills of Dhauladhar ranges to experience the rich and regal Tibetan culture. In 1959, Dalai Lama came to India with his followers and settled, rather beautifying the town of Dharamsala, transforming it into the little Lhasa. Dharamsala, for many years, has been a centre of meditation and peace.
Kullu

Kullu, a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh is located on the banks of the Beas river. Kullu is known for its Dusshera Festival, ancient temples, and rafting. Kullu is generally coupled with its sister town Manali which is at a much higher altitude and provides more scenic views of snow-capped mountains. Kullu is also home to Bhuntar airport and bus junction and is used as the base town to reach Manikaran, Kasol, Malana, Naggar. Kullu also has few important temples like the Raghunath Temple and Jagannath Devi Temple. There are many treks that also originate from this area include the Bijli Mahadev Temple Trek, Parvati Valley Trek, etc. With panoramic views and majestic hills covered with Deodar and Pine trees, Kullu is a nature lover's paradise. Situated at an altitude of 1230 meters between Pir Pranjal, Lower Himalayan, and Great Himalayan Ranges, Kullu is abundant with apple orchards. Being the district headquarter, Kullu is a bustling town. Rafting is a popular activity that starts from Pirni, around 4 km away from Kullu.
Kinnaur

One of the twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh, Kinnaur is located on the Indo-Tibet border. Situated at a distance of 235 km from Shimla, Kinnaur hosts the views of Zanskar Valley, snow-draped Dhauladar range, Chitkul - The last village on the indo-Tibet border and have Satluj, Baspa and Spiti rivers meandering through it. Also known as "Land of God", the most important attraction of Kinnaur district is the religious "Shiva Lingam", the representation of Lord Shiva and the mesmerising rock formations change its colours several times during the day. There are old Buddhist monasteries and temples in the vicinity which hold particular importance and are revered by Buddhists. Apart from religion, Kinnaur also has a vast scope in adventure sports like trekking and skiing. There are about nine known routes for trekking and some which are five days or six-day trips. Kinnaur is well known for its delicious apples, Chilgoza, handlooms and handicrafts materials. The valleys of Kinnaur are also one of the most sought after camping destinations in India, Sangla Valley. Apple orchards camps, camping on the river Baspa and Satluj are some of the scenic destinations to pitch your tents for an amazing camping experience.
Gangtok

Incredibly alluring, pleasantly boisterous and wreathed in clouds - Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, is one of the most popular hill stations in India. Lying at the height of 1650 m above sea level, the town during its bright sunny days offers spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Gangtok is a base for adventure enthusiasts comprising of trekkers and campers to the Himalayan mountain ranges. During the months of March to Mid-May, blooming of wild Rhododendrons transform the surrounding regions in vast fields of colourful carpets. Its name meaning hill-top, Gangtok can be safely said to be one of the most beautiful hill stations in the country. With everything in just the right amount from a blend of cultural identities to urbanisation, Gangtok is a breathing and dynamic bit of paradise of the northeast. Gangtok and its surrounding regions are abundant in natural beauty and have various natural attractions such as the Tsomgo Lake, Ban Jhakri falls, Tashi viewpoint and more. Other places to visit include many famous religious sites such as the Enchey Monastery, Ganesh Tok, Do Drul Chorten Rumtek Monastery, etc. Also, river Teesta is one of the best spots for white water rafting in North East India.
Darjeeling

The previous summer capital of India under the British Raj, Darjeeling has come off age as one of the most sought after hill stations in India. Located in West Bengal, this scenic hill station is the perfect getaway for a romantic honeymoon. Nestled amidst acres of tea plantations, Darjeeling stands at the height of 2,050 meters above sea level, thus boasting a cool climate all year round. The toy train established back in 1881 is conferred the title of World Heritage Status by UNESCO. The train begins its journey from the plains and rises to over 2000 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the mountains as it chugs along. Over 86 tea estates in Darjeeling are responsible for producing the worldwide famous 'Darjeeling Tea'. Have a cup of locally brewed chai at the tea estate, or get down amidst the plantations to pluck a few tea leaves yourself; you are free to take your pick! The third highest peak in the world and the highest in India, the Kanchenjunga peak, is visible from here, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the peak. Some of Darjeeling's most popular attractions include monasteries, botanical gardens, a zoo, and the Darjeeling-Rangeet Valley Passenger Ropeway cable car, which is the longest Asian cable car. Tiger Hill is a fantastic spot to see the sunrise over the mountains in all its fiery glory.
